CIVIS
The University of Bucharest (Romania) is part of theCIVIS network of European universities, which includes other 10 universities:
  • University of Aix-Marseille (France),
  • National and Capodistrian University of Athens (Greece),
  • Free University of Bruxelles (Belgium),
  • Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain),
  • University Sapienza of Rome (Italy),
  • University of Stockholm (Sweden),
  • University Eberhard Karls of Tübingen (Germany),
  • University of Glasgow (Great Britain),
  • University Paris Lodron (PLUS) of Salzburg (Austria),
  • University of Lausanne (UNIL) (Switzerland).

The CIVIS academic community has presently about half million students and over 70.000 staff members (including over 37.400 teachers and researchers), the expertise, knowledge and common values of whom will strengthen the role of CIVIS in defining the future of higher education, but will also address the social challenges.

The universities members of the CIVIS network are committed to implement the principles of the Bologna education process, in order to develop a higher-education European area. The European Civic University can be seen as a space of responsible and innovative education, of research, of cultural exchange and civic actions in Europa, from the Baltic Sea to the Mediterranean Sea, being constantly connected at world news, its citizens and institutions.

The CIVIS network will strengthen also the existing research cooperation between the constituent universities through interdisciplinarity and sharing of research and financial infrastructure, in order to encourage the participation in common projects.
